Renovations Underway: Westport & Scottrade

While we're waiting for the Arch work to continue, here are a couple other areas to watch.

Scottrade Center renovations have begun. The 23 year old home of our STL Blues has been in need of updates, and funding finally came through which should keep us in the running to continue hosting major events. There are a few preview photos currently on their official site, and some pix of work in progress via local media. I've seen three concerts there just this year (either saving on fees at the box office or stumbling on a sweet deal), so I'm excited to see the new look soon.

Across the street, an upgrade and expansion to the Civic Center Transit Center for Metro service is also underway, which will add additional enhancements to this busy area. (Also the answer to a popular question I hear a lot.)

Meanwhile in the regional center of town, Westport Plaza continues to spruce up, with some crazy new features on the way, including a game called Snookball. And a restaurant called Camp Site. (Not kidding though.) Soon we'll be partying on The Lid, and maybe hanging out at Westport Social in the old movie theater, while the ever-popular Kobe moves down to the old Ozzie's space. There's already lots of free stuff to do here, including movie nights, fitness classes, car shows and loads more, some of which will move into new spaces.

There are various times on these projects, most of them expected to be completed this year or into next, so keep watching as our crazy rebuilding phase carries on.
