STL in the Shutdown

Well, since COVID-19 has turned the world—and our town—upside down, there's not a quite so much to get out and do at the moment. We hope you're keeping both up-to-date and safe during this collective quarantined adventure.

In case you need any info.:
• Find St. Louis County updates at STLCorona.com, or contact the St. Louis County COVID-19 Hotline 24/7 at 314-615-2660.
City updates are available at the St. Louis City COVID-19 Page.
• Find information from the Missouri Dept. of Health & Senior Services at health.mo.gov, or call their 24 hour hotline at 877-435-8411.
• Visit CDC.gov for updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But even with all that, there's still plenty of FREE STL stuff to see and do, some in the great outdoors and a lot of it right from your own computer.

First of all, get outside if you can. Many parks in the region have remained open or reopened, but do your homework as some local and Missouri State Parks remain closed. At this point we're still clear to get out and walk or bike around the neighborhood, so definitely take advantage of that while keeping your social distance. Also, our famous Bellefontaine Cemetery & Arboretum currently remains open for self-guided tours. Be sure to check for added closures, and don't expect any park playgrounds, sporting areas or restrooms to be available at this time.

Laumeier is back open, baby! Along with many area parks. Get out there!
And then there's everything streaming and online. From Shakespearean works to virtual tours, you can experience some of our finest landmarks and entertainment at a ridiculously safe distance for for completely free.

Here's what we've collected so far:
City Museum is streaming various shows throughout the week.
Forest Park Forever is bringing the park to you with their #ForestParkatHome collection.
Listen Forest Park has a lovely collection of very St. Louis sounds. Just listen.
Missouri Botanical Garden gives you lots of virtual strolls of the grounds with plenty of videos.
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is doing lots of Facebook livestreams, or you can view previously recorded performances.
Six Flags St. Louis lets you experience Six Flags at home with activity sheets.
St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station has FB quaranstreams, feedings and more.
St. Louis Art Museum is sharing different parts of the collection every day on Facebook, with lots more to see on SLAM.org.
St. Louis Blues are currently releasing their History Made Director's Cut, documenting some memories from last year when WE GOT THE CUP! (Anyone else remembering what it was like to hang out fearlessly in those crowds of wall-to-wall people?)
St. Louis Cardinals offer Fredbird Activity sheets and much more on their site
St. Louis County Library invites you to visit its virtual branch, where you can download books and entertainment, online learning resources and more.
St. Louis Science Center will teach you all kinds of new tricks on their Facebook page.
St. Louis Zoo naturally features ANIMAL CAMS!
The Magic House gives us their #MagicAtHome series on Facebook.

Oh, and we do know lots of our local eateries are still serving up meals by delivery and curb side, so if you do have any bucks to spare please buy local! Watch out for free delivery deals while you're at it, and be sure to tip your drivers—online, of course.

That's it for now. If we find more, we'll add it! And feel free to share any other special STL finds in the comments below.

Stay healthy, St. Louis!
