What's This? Six Flags Fright Fest and... Christmas Town?

As we were looking at the possibility of hitting Six Flags Fright Fest this October, and trying to discover a deal for that event, we stumbled upon something completely new. For the first time in their history, Six Flags St. Louis expects their longest season ever as they open up again on select days November 5-January 1 for "Holiday in the Park." Expect a myriad of twinkling lights, Christmas themed live shows, and fires set up around the park, along with some rather brisk rides, we expect. Standard ticket prices are a bit lower than regular season, but be on the lookout for additional deals such as group rates.

This also happens to be the 40th anniversary of our classic Screamin' Eagle wooden roller coaster, plus the latest coaster, Fireball, and a revamped Ninja, which gives you a simultaneously real and virtual experience, both open this season as well. (UPDATE: The virtual coaster goggles glitched, so that didn't go so well. If they say it's not working but they'll fix it, DO NOT RIDE. Oy.)

There's still time to catch all the thrills of summer, plus the Halloween and new Christmas season, so check out more details at sixflags.com/stlouis.
