2017 Updates & New Tips

Well as January updates get made to the blog, I've also included some new pointers on getting the very best price to Six Flags as given to me by a park insider. Thanks to them, we've already taken in both of last year's holiday themes, Fright Fest and our very first Holiday in the Park. (Plus we were also able to use the passes on a spontaneous road trip to the original Six Flags where they've been hosting the Holiday since 1985... And they are Texas-sized serious about it.) Needless to say, it's already paid for itself, and we can still go anytime this year if we want. See more details on the Cheap Spots page.

New things we're watching include 39 North, an ambitious plan to draw more agri-business to West County. And, of course, we're keeping an eye on all the ongoing renovations to the Arch area, where they currently have the lights off at the monument for electrical updates, plus so many other areas of growth happening before our eyes. There is generally a LOT of  apartment housing going up around the region, which indicates an expectation of young business growth in general. So welcome to the STL, millennial fam.

We're also sad to see some old things go, with several struggling malls and a few restaurants closing around town, but hopefully that will mean new growth in their place.

We were pleased to find a recent Groupon to the National Blues Museum, which just opened up last year. Fun trip through the history of the blues. Plus they keep listing different ways to get discount tickets on social media, such as bringing by your ticket to the auto show if you're going. Music lovers, get yourselves over there.

Hope you're all enjoying your 2017, and hit me up if you wanna go explore the Lou.
