Arch area openings and updates

As CityArchRiver keeps the transformation projects rolling, we were there for a ribbon cutting at the new North Gateway Park near Laclede's Landing, which was largely the former site of the Arch parking garage. Even ran into outgoing Mayor Slay, who stuck out his hand for a shake as we passed by.
Behind the media line.
They tried to start with a banner showing the old garage (shown left)... 'til it blew down.
Fancy ribbon cutting.
While I'm now curious about the future parking situation, the new park is a great space with a really nice elevated walkway, and it's exciting to see The Landing active and more easily accessible again after all the construction.

Panoramica
We also took a stroll along the new raised riverfront, with Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd. elevated a bit to decrease flooding, and up around and under the Arch itself, which looks very different with so many areas still closed off below.

These guys got a lift too.

UP NEXT: The new entry and park over highway areas remain under construction with hopeful estimates for later this year, but Kiener Plaza will reopen next with a ribbon cutting at noon on Friday, May 19 and additional celebration from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, complete with music, food and a mandatory Fredbird appearance. Schedule here.

In the meantime, we're just enjoying watching history in the making. Get yourself out and enjoy the changes.
